Infrastructure and transport are among the sectors heavily affected by HIV/AIDS. As a sub-contractor to ENV Consult, PHSRF was responsible for the redesign and implementation of the TANROADS consultancy services for HIV/AIDS, STIs and TB mitigation for the road sector support project in Nantumbo–Tunduru and the Iringa–Dodoma road sections. Through these services, PHSRF aims to increase knowledge and practice of safesex behaviors among construction workers and other at-risk groups, thereby lowering the incidence and prevalence of HIV infection as well as other STIs. Currently, PHSRF is implementing another TANROADS project, providing consultancy services for sensitization of HIV/AIDS, STIs, TB prevention and gender issues for the Arusha–Holili–Taveta–Voi Road, Sakina–Tengeru road section (14.1 km) and Arusha bypass road (42.24 km).
